Andy Ernst has been appointed as head of central Europe for the Mammut Sports Group from the start of May. Ernst was previously supervising the Swiss outdoor group's sales in all European markets other than the German-speaking countries, but he has taken over the supervision of its business in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.  He reports directly to Stefan Merkt, the group's chief sales officer, as before, taking care of the other markets. Dean Polic, former country manager for Germany, and Thomas Brock, his counterpart in Switzerland, are leaving the company at the end of May, as part of the reorganization. Austria will remain under the leadership of Armin Duda. Oliver Pabst, the group's chief executive, said in a statement that the change would bring the brand closer to the market. Ernst joined Mammut in 2011, switching from Under Armour. He previously worked at Dosenbach Ochsner and the Adidas Group. The change comes after Pabst's arrival as Mammut's chief executive last year, which led to several other management appointments earlier this year.
