Lowa has announced that Alexander Nicolai will join the top management on Jan. 1 as joint managing director alongside Werner Riethmann, the German company's longtime chief executive, and Rudolf Limmer and Matthias Wanner, who will serve as commercial director and international sales manager. Nicolai has been heading up design and product development at Lowa since 2014. Riethmann, who has been running the company for more than 25 years, will remain in the management for a further two years. Riethmann said that the 43-year-old Nicolai had been chosen for the job because Lowa “is a product company.” Wanner, 47, had been most recently in charge of sales in the German market. His position will be taken over by Markus Strefling, 37, who was previously key accounts manager,, a role that is being transferred to Johannes Krause.
