Oboz, the fast-growing brand of trail footwear, has hired Derek Gustafson to run its product development team. One of his tasks will be to add new products and categories. He will also seek to introduce new materials and constructions. A native of Bozeman, the town in Minnesota where the company is based, Gustafson worked in the past eight years with Black Diamond Equipment in Utah, concentrating initially on the development of ski boots. He then managed a team that worked on the development of a wide range of outdoor products such as packs, helmets, poles, lights and climbing hardware, implementing integrated and lean processes.
