Australian company Sea to Summit has appointed Sally McCoy to the newly created position of executive chair. McCoy is an experience veteran of the global outdoor industry having served as chief executive of CamelBak, president of Sierra Designs, and vice president at The North Face during periods of dramatic growth, product innovation, and brand expansion. She has also served as board chair for the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), Conversation Alliance and Outdoor Foundation.

Based in the U.S., McCoy will assume responsibility for the brand’s global strategy and expansion and work closely with the North American Sea to Summit office, led by Josh Simpson, as well as providing strategic leadership for the company’s global wholesale distribution, manufacturing, marketing and direct-to-consumer business.

Over the past decade, Sea to Summit has experienced rapid growth driven by a wide diversity of product offerings, global wholesale distribution, and company expansions. Earlier this year, the Australians acquired the brand’s long-time North American distributor in a series of global growth strategies.
