Barry McGeough has been named Wolverine Worldwide’s new vice president for advanced concepts & innovation. McGeough has worked in the footwear and technical apparel industry for 20 years. Highlights of his career include innovation and product development for brands such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, The North Face and Speedo, as well as designing solutions at Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects (Google ATAP) group that use networked apparel to ensure the safety of gamers and workers. According to Wolverine, McGeough will help the company leverage new technologies, materials and other advances to drive product innovation and improvements in the digital transformation of the customer experience. His findings will also lead the way in understanding how exponential technologies such as 5G, augmented reality, AI and virtual reality impact product development and physical and online retail. McGeough will report to Angelo Ng, chief merchant officer and a member of Wolverine Worldwide’s executive leadership team.
