Following the European Outdoor Group's (EOG) announcement earlier this year that the federation would also welcome retailers as members, the first retail chains have now joined the association. They are SportScheck, Transa, the big Swiss outdoor retailer, Sport 2000 and STMI, the buying group comprising Go Sport, Hervis, SportXX, Forum Sport, Twinner Iberica and Twinner France. New members on the wholesale side are the Czech sporting goods association, Avoz, and Singing Rock, a brand of climbing gear from the same country. The EOG and the OutDoor fair organized a visit for journalists to the important Czech outdoor industry a few months ago. Founded in 2003 by 19 major outdoor companies, the EOG now has 66 full members and 10 associate members. Others will be joining the organization in the coming weeks.
