Mark Held, secretary general of the European Outdoor Group (EOG), has agreed to stay on board until the end of June 2019. The EOG had announced at the OutDoor fair last year that Held intended to stand down, once a suitable replacement is found. This marked a major transition for the EOG, since Held established the association in 2003 with Rolf Schmid, the former chief executive of the Mammut Sports Group. It turns out that a replacement has been found but won't be available to take over until next year.
