VF Corp. has named Luis Benitez vice president of governmental affairs and global impact, overseeing the VF Foundation and relations with the public sector and outdoor recreation interests. As former head of Colorado's Outdoor Recreation Industry Office, Benitez was instrumental in recruiting outdoor companies to set up offices in the state under Governor John Hickenlooper. He also pushed for the move of the Outdoor Retailer trade show from Salt Lake City to Denver. He is credited with helping to grow Colorado's annual outdoor economy to $62 billion from $28 billion in 2015.
