Petzl America has opened the Petzl Technical Institute in Salt Lake City, a 15,000-square-foot technical training center featuring customizable and job-specific training facilities that recreate a variety of real-world scenarios. The institute includes a 55-foot tall climbing wall with midway ledge for multi-pitch simulation as well as more than 5,000 square feet of exposed structure climbing for programming including tower, rope-access and industrial rescue. The new facility also features a three-story vertical confined space training apparatus, a 70-foot rooftop exterior rappel station for edge-transition rescue, and a 36-foot tall drop-test structure. The new Petzl Technical Institute facility will also support the Petzl Solutions Network in North America by providing it with a centralized training location and encouraging the sharing of technical information and safety practices among the training providers who partner with the company.
