Adidas Outdoor has signed a 16 year-old climber, Kai Lightner, to its team of athletes. The American teenager won the 2015 SCS National Championship in Watertown, Massachusetts, where he was the youngest participant. Lightner started climbing at the age of six and he trains in Morrisville, North Carolina. Lightner won the national championship in the USA Climbing youth circuit eight times and the Pan American championship titles three times. In September last year he won the gold medal in the 14-15 age category at the Youth World Championships held in Noumea, New Caledonia. The young athlete started taking part in outdoor sport climbing in 2013 and in April he climbed Era Vella in Margalef, Spain.
