Black Diamond Equipment says it is intensifying trade marketing in Europe this winter with targeted sales training, an optimized point-of-purchase program and close partnerships with leading European outdoor retailers. The goal is to coordinate the different aspects of the communication to the consumer, says Stephan Hagenbusch, European marketing director of the company. As part of this program, BD will invited 30 retailers from across Europe to two days of training in Chamonix in November, with particular attention to snow safety. Special partnerships have been struck with 16 major sporting goods retailers, which will be offered services to cover in-store and window installations, sales promotions and joint communication measures. Further developments in trade marketing are planned for spring/summer 2015 and subsequent seasons.
