eVent was a sponsor of the 10th annual Alé La Merckx Granfondo Verona, the cyclist race named after the Belgian cyclist Eddy Merckx, which took place in Verona, Italy on June 12. The 139km race, which is for cyclists who are used to climbing passes, takes participants through the vineyards of Valpolicella, the towns of the Adige valley and the meadows of Trentino. The race includes around 2,500 meters of climbing. As part of the sponsorship deal, every participant received an all-weather Alé jacket made with eVent fabrics. Alé, an Italian producer of technical cycling apparel, teamed up with eVent to create a jacket that is packable and lightweight, to enable the Granfondo cyclists to carry it or wear it during the event. In addition to being waterproof and windproof, the jacket is said to offer air permeability to dissipate body heat and sweat that is generated during high-intensity cycling. Alé is one of more than 20 international cycling brands that use eVent membranes in their high-performance cycling apparel and accessories.
