Maria Granberg, the Swedish adventure sportswoman, has become the latest ambassador for the outdoor brand Haglöfs. Granberg, born and raised in the Swedish province of Värmland, had her first experience of high altitudes when she lived and worked as a volunteer in Tanzania and climbed Kilimanjaro in 2010. In May 2016, she became the fourth Swedish woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest. After studying psychology, Maria gives lectures for companies, at events and in schools, sharing her experiences in the mountains and the possibilities of a more active lifestyle. Today, the mountain athlete lives in Åre. One specific goal she has had for quite some time is to climb an 8000+ meter peak without oxygen. Her hope is to share her aspirations with more women and to expand the female presence in high-altitude mountaineering.
