Heimplanet, the German brand for inflatable tents, presented a new model, which won the iF Design Award 2012, for the first time at this year's OutDoor show. The German company expanded its product line to a travel and backpack collection, which was also presented in Friedrichshafen. Heimplanet cooperated with Red Bull for the “Storm Chase” event, which will start this August. The 10 best windsurfers worldwide will be competing at extreme wind conditions during several events, which are announced only two days in advance. Heimplanet developed together with a Dutch university a special inflatable tent for media coverage during the event. The tent is approved for wind speed up to 180 km/h. Heimplanet has sold its products since January 2012 by means of distribution partnerships with Cizen in Japan and Technolyt in the Netherlands.
