H.S. Trask, an iconic American brand of rugged outdoor footwear that was taken over by Genesco in 2011, is being reportedly revived in the U.S. with an extensive line of technical and leisure shoes for men and women, starting with the present autumn/winter season. It has been taken up by high-end shoe stores as well as outdoor lifestyle retailers such as Silver Creek Outfitters of Sun Valley, Idaho. H.S.Trask was the creature of a shoe industry veteran, Harrison Trask, who used American bison leather for his first collections. Genesco's new Trask collection uses bison leather as well as steer, elk, wild African ram and other special materials. A limited edition of welted men's boots is made at two U.S. factories.
