Mammut will be launching a big international online and offline marketing campaign on the occasion of its 150th anniversary next year. An anniversary book including diverse mountaineering stories will be sold by retailers and in bookshops from autumn next year. A special anniversary collection will also be launched for next year. Mammut will be celebrating its anniversary year with 150 rope teams on 150 peaks all over the world. The peak project is set to take place from August 2011 to August 2012 on mountains all over the world. Since February, customers from all over the world have had the opportunity to submit their tour suggestions on a specially created website. To apply, they needed to create a virtual 3D mountain and call on support from their friends to make their peak grow. By the end of April, more than 2,500 people participated, supported by about 25,000 friends. An expert jury selected by Mammut is now choosing the 75 best suggestions out of the 300 highest mountains from the recruitment phase. The remaining 75 tours will be organized directly by the Mammut country representatives. Each team will be equipped with the Mammut anniversary collection and be accompanied by a mountain guide. In August 2011, the campaign will be kicked off at Jungfraujoch in Switzerland, where Mammut will be organizing a base camp with 150 tents, which should serve as another key visual of the campaign. TV and print advertising are going to promote the campaign. A fundraising campaign will also be launched.
