Point6, the American sports sock manufacturer founded by former executives of Smartwool, says it will use a new type of truly white merino wool. Called “Enciel”, the new fiber is whiter than optically white cotton. It will not fade through laundering or exposure to the sun, and the yarn can be dyed in vibrant colors or fine pastel shades like never before. The fiber has been developed by The Merino Company after many years of research and development, using its “SpectraWool 1” technology.
