Scarpa’s manager Heinz Mariacher has been awarded the Paul Preuss Award 2020, which honors outstanding climbers. The prize is named after Paul Preuss, the father of free climbing. The honor was handed out by Reinhold Messner, the legendary Italian mountaineer and explorer, and Georg Bachler, the honorary chairman of the International Paul Preuss Society.
