Solvay is launching globally Bio Amni, its first partially bio-based polyamide 5.6. Bio Amni is produced entirely at the company’s textile industrial unit in Brazil. Solvay’s research and innovation teams worked on creating the new textile yarn for two years, the company said. The launch of Bio Amni brings the share of sustainable textiles within Solvay’s global polyamide portfolio to 30 percent, a figure that the international chemical group, with employees in 64 countries, expects to increase to 50 percent over the next three years.
