The Mammut Sports Group is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the first ascent of the Matterhorn with a special Matterhorn collection of T-shirts, technical jackets, shoes and backpacks. Items from the collection will be raffled from March 2 among the participants in a virtual contest on the microsite for sections of the Hörnligrat route that leads to the 4,478-meter-high summit of the mountain. Tours to and around the Matterhorn can be booked at attractive prices through the Mammut Alpine School. Mammut began to celebrate the conquest of the Matterhorn last autumn with a temporary chain of lights along the Hörnligrat route in cooperation with the Zermatt mountain guides. Four of the seven alpinists in the rope team led by Edward Whymper died during its first ascent in 1865.
