The North Face (TNF) is celebrating Neil Armstrong's “giant leap for mankind” with a capsule collection. It was 50 years ago, on July 20, 1969, that the astronauts Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins completed the outbound half of humanity's first trip to the moon. Five-day commemorative celebrations of the feat are to begin worldwide on July 20 or 21, depending on the local time zone. TNF's own capsule (pardon the pun), called “Lunar Voyage,” reworks some of the brand's classic jackets – such as the short, padded Nuptse, the multi-pocketed Denali Fleece and the Mountain Q – with a monochromatic look and reflective logos. It includes bags and accessories as well. The collection went on sale on July 17 at select TNF stores and on the brand's e-tail site.
