Trekmates, the British maker of outdoor apparel, has sealed a deal with the British Association of International Mountain Leaders (BAIML). In early December, at the general assembly of BAIML, Trekmates handed over the first 500 softshell jackets to around 150 BAIML members who attended the meeting. The gear was jointly developed by the two partners over a period of 12 months. An additional 500 jackets of the same type will be marketed directly to consumers through the internet at a price of £100 (€120.20-$156.70). The whole deal with BAIML is worth £50,000 (€60,085-$78,399).
