YKK has incorporated Polygiene’s ViralOff into a line of zippers, making them “essentially self-cleaning.” The Japanese company – which has business lines in fasteners, architectural products, and machinery and engineering – is presenting its first zippers of this kind at the Lineapelle show, scheduled for Sept. 22-23 in Milan. ViralOff, as its name suggests, is an antiviral fabric treatment with applications to medical equipment, medical scrubs, face masks, gloves and a variety of consumer products. Polygiene launched the product to great demand in April, in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
