After 19 years of collaboration, Zeis Excelsa will stop distributing Merrell in Italy after the end of this year. By then, it will also have closed or converted its six Merrell stores in Italy. The new Italian distributor of the brand will be a company called Premiere Distribution. Zeis Excelsa, which also owns Docksteps and several other brands of shoes, has been developing Merrell especially in the lifestyle segment. It recently sold its stake in a fashion brand, Bikkembergs. Merrell is currently sold in around 600 shops throughout the country, including several outdoor specialty stores.
