Aicad, the owner of the Lizard brand of sports sandals, has signed up the Scott Sports Group as its exclusive distributor outside Italy. Lizard generates annual sales of about €2.5 million, half of that in Italy. After taking on the European license for Outdoor Research, and then acquiring Dolomite and re-launching the Powderhorn brand, the Swiss-based group has further expanded its presence in the outdoor market by acquiring a Swiss brand of backpacks, Bach, which previously belonged to Transa, a leading Swiss outdoor retailer in which Beat Zaugg, the chief executive of Scott, owns a major stake.
