Alchemy Equipment, the New Zealand-based brand of urban outdoor performance apparel, has teamed up with Partners Growth in Canada for distribution in the U.S. and Canadian markets. The group said it started exploring the North American market at the Outdoor Retailer winter fair last year and walked away with nine strong accounts, which prompted it to find a reliable partner for brand-building and service. Partners Growth has appointed Chris Hawson, former buyer at Paragon Sports, as national sales director for Alchemy Equipment, to start selling the brand in the spring/summer 2017 season. Earlier this year the brand teamed up with B&S in South Korea, a company that was established to distribute Alchemy Equipment and to launch its own sneaker brand. The New Zealand company said a few weeks ago that it would start working with a warehouse in Rotterdam for deliveries in European markets, to build up a network of independent sales agents in Europe. Established in 2013 by Campbell Junor, former co-owner and creative director of Macpac, Alchemy Equipment is now sold in about 70 stores in ten countries.
