(Already published in the Asia Outdoor issue) Sea to Summit, the Aussie brand of accessories and sleeping bags, opened its own subsidiary in Germany on July 1. It is the brand's second subsidiary outside Australia, as Sea to Summit established an office in China last year, from where it also distributes other two outdoor brands in the market - Jetboil and Camelbak. The German subsidiary is based at Neuss near Düsseldorf and includes a warehouse and a showroom. Sea to Summit has engaged Jürgen Schütte, who previously worked for K2 and Mammut, as sales manager and Georgie McCarr as customer service manager for the German market. A German employee, Nathalie Joachim, who acts as international marketing manager at Sea to Summit and is based in Australia, is currently helping to set up the subsidiary, which will also cover the Austrian market. Heinz Haberger previously distributed the brand in Southern Germany, covering about 300 points of sale. One of the brand's first clients in Germany was Globetrotter.
