Canada Goose suspended the planned opening of a flagship store in Beijing, originally planned for Dec. 15, justifying the move with delays in construction. No new date was given. Observers felt that the suspension was linked to the arrest on Dec. 1 of Meng Wanzhou, the financial director of Huawei, by the Canadian police at the request of U.S. authorities, which are charging her with fraud around the U.S. trade sanctions against Iran. Chinese nationalists had threatened to boycott the store's opening on the social media.
