Caribee, the Australian brand of backpacks, is attempting a re-launch in the U.S. this summer, exhibiting at the Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City. The brand was already sold in the U.S. up to 2008, when its distributor went bankrupt. Caribee recently started to sell via a local distributor, Limite Sur, in Chile. For the Russian market, Caribee signed a deal with SLS Plant at the beginning of the last year. Forty percent of the company's sales are generated in Australia, where the brand also sells tents, sleeping bags and outdoor furniture. Caribee exports only backpacks and travel luggage. They are sold in France, Germany, the U.K., Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland and some Asian markets.
