Garmont has set up a North American subsidiary, located in New Hampshire. The Italian company, which was recently bailed out by Pierangelo Bressan, had a North American subsidiary before in Portland, Oregon, but closed it down at the end of 2012 after selling its ski boot business to Scott Sports Group. Its remaining outdoor footwear business has been represented in North America since then by Scott Sports USA. Garmont's new U.S. sales operation will be headed up by Bill Dodge, who has worked for Salomon and Wolverine Worldwide. He was most recently vice president of global product design and development for Wolverine's Merrell and Chaco brands and for its Patagonia footwear license, which is being phased out.
