Garmont International has teamed up with AC Agency for its distribution in France. The Italian outdoor footwear brand was previously sold in the country by Nord Ouest, an outdoor distribution company selling brands such as Eagle Creek, Pieps, Klean Kanteen, Mountain Equipment and others. Last year Nord Ouest acquired a majority stake in Ricochet, which widened its offer with brands including Lowe Alpine and Asolo. AC Agency is named after Arnaud Coirier, who covers the French market for Garmont with a group of five agents focusing on sports and outdoor retailers. The firm previously operated as an agency for Hi-Tec in France. Coirier said that the agreement had started off well, thanks to the work accomplished by Nord Ouest in previous years as well as the snowy weather in the French Alps. Coirier himself is covering key accounts, Paris and the northwest of France, while supervising sales across the country. Marco Sancandi, Garmont's director of operations, said in a statement that the brand has significantly evolved since the change in its shareholding in 2014, as it switched to two ranges per year and started developing a full offering for women, as well as moving into new segments such as travel, warm winter footwear and a fast hiking range.
