Garmont International, the Italian outdoor footwear company, has appointed new distribution partners in the U.K. and Spain. The Italian brand's sales agency in the U.K. is New Heights, a young company run by Kieron MacKenzie, who has a track record of more than 30 years in the industry as a retailer, brand manager and distributor. Among his latest jobs, he was the brand manager for Deuter at the Mountain Boot Company and managing director of Allcord. Meanwhile, Artida Sports has taken over as Garmont's agent for Spain, Andorra and Portugal. Established in Barcelona since 1998, Artida is a company specializing in the outdoor market, with more than 250 retail customers in Spain, Andorra and Portugal. It already sells Black Diamond and Ski Trab. Garmont covered the Spanish market directly for several months prior to the appointment of Artida Sports but it didn't previously have any business in Portugal. Further afield, Garmont has also appointed Briss Co. as its distributor in Iran. The eleven year-old company works in training, sales and distributing products all around the country, with a team including some strong climbers and bikers.
