The Globetrotter store in Frankfurt, Germany, has started selling second-hand items, mainly returns, but also used items of all assortment brands. The outdoor retailer wants to offer its customers an additional sustainable and resource-saving incentive to shop. In addition to clothing, the second-hand range includes rucksacks, bags, stoves and other hardware. The items on offer have been tested in the company’s own workshops and come with a 12-month warranty. Hangtags on the products provide information about origin, age and potential repairs. This way, the company wants to ensure that its demand for quality and service is also met for its second hand products. After a short test phase in the Frankfurt branch, Globetrotter plans to successively open sales areas for second-hand goods at all other locations.
