GSI Outdoors confirmed that it appointed Lyon Equipment as its distributor in the U.K. and Ireland from the start of next year. The U.S. brand of outdoor cookware, cutlery and other accessories has long been sold in the U.K. by Rosker, but the company announced that it would amicably cease distribution for GSI Outdoors at the end of this year due to the supplier's decision to start making its own-branded stoves from 2016. Rosker said this was incompatible with its representation of Primus, the brand of stoves owned by the Fenix Outdoor International group in Sweden. Fenix actually took over control of Rosker in 2009 and the company sells other brands owned by Fenix, from Fjällräven to Hanwag and Brunton. It added Real Turmat freeze-dried food from Norway, Forestia food from Spain and Kupilka from Finland, offering cutlery made from natural fiber composites. Lyon Equipment is one of the largest outdoor distributors in the U.K., selling a gaggle of brands such as Petzl, La Sportiva, Julbo and many more.
