Nau (pronounced “now”), a young label of urban outdoor apparel from Portland, Oregon, that was introduced to the European market at Ispo last year, has been picked as nominee for an Ispo Award in the Eco Responsibility Apparel category. The brand concentrates on eco-friendly, sustainable clothing and was founded in 2007 by former executives of Nike, Adidas and Patagonia. The company, which donates 2 percent of its turnover to nongovernmental organizations, is expanding quickly into Europe. The Swedish agency Capilano, run by Pi Olsson, will take care of distribution in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, France, the U.K. and Germany. Olsson represented Mammut in Sweden before he switched to Patagonia to take care of its business in the same country from 2006 through 2009. Nau will be at Ispo Munich later this month in Ispo Vision, Hall B1.
