Ortlieb, the German company that specializes in bicycle bags and backpacks, is waiving the service fee for dropshipping orders from its partner retailers until further notice. Customers can order together with their local dealer on the Ortlieb retail partner portal. The order is paid in the store and Ortlieb delivers the desired product directly to the customer’s home. This means that the retailer does not incur any additional costs when selling an Ortlieb product if it is not currently in stock in the store due to liquidity bottlenecks or lack of repeat orders as a result of the Corona-related closure. In order to increase the visibility of this service in the store and to proactively draw the consumers’ attention to the possibility of dropshipping, Ortlieb has developed a special POS advertising hangtag that has already benn sent to all retailer partners.
