The distribution in Europe of Backcountry Access' snow safety and avalanche protection items will be transferred to K2 Europe following the company's acquisition by Jarden Corp. earlier this year from its founders, Bruce McGowan and Bruce Edgerly. They are both still involved in the management. K2 will also provide support in the area of product development. Meanwhile, Backcountry Access has decided to recall about 8,200 avalanche airbags in North America because of a faulty trigger. The models are Float 18, 20, 30, 32, 36 and Throttle.
