The European Outdoor Conservation Association (Eoca) has announced that fundraising at Ispo Munich in January came to more than double the amount received last year at the same show. Donations from 44 of its members and events held on members’ own stands brought the total raised to €37,500, as compared to €19,000 in 2019, which was itself a record. An additional boost to conservation plans came in January from the signing of four new members to the association, three during Ispo itself. McKinley joined Eoca on Jan. 1, while Lesovik, Merrell, and Sport Conrad joined Eoca during the trade show. The new members have brought the total number of Eoca members to 158. Eoca is an initiative from the European outdoor industry to help protect the wild areas. The organization is funded by membership and other fundraising activities within the outdoor industry. Since January 2015, a group of so-called “Sustaining Members” has pledged their support to Eoca with an extra €10,000 per year in addition to their annual membership fee. The current Eoca Sustaining Members are: Pertex, Keen Footwear, The North Face, Nikwax, Ispo and OutDoor by Ispo (Messe München), and the European Outdoor Group (EOG), which is also the founding member of the association.
