A European convention called Nature & Sport Euro'Meet will take place in Annecy, France, on Oct. 5-8 to bring together major players in the sport, tourism, environment and urban planning sectors who wish to find ways to cooperate at the European level to promote outdoor sports activities. Conferences will be held on subjects such as the role of such activities in territorial development. Resolutions are expected to be drafted for recommendations on action to be taken on this and other fronts at the end of the convention. Gregory Paulger, youth and sports director of the European Commission, is set to participate along with government officials and experts from 15 European countries. Eugenio Di Maria, publisher of The Outdoor Industry Compass and Sporting Goods Intelligence Europe, will act as an expert and as a moderator at some of the sessions.
