Big Agnes, the American brand of sleeping bags and other outdoor equipment, is to start using a distribution center in Rotterdam, in January 2017, to support growing European demand. The company says the plan is to have pre-orders and re-orders shipped from the center to all European retail partners. Big Agnes regards the warehousing arrangement as another upgrade in its infrastructure and service to European retailers. The company points out that the change should save freight costs and reduce order transit times, while removing complexities in the importation of the goods for the retail partners. Big Agnes currently ships its products to Europe from both the U.S. and Asia. The brand has distribution partners in France and Denmark, to cover all of Scandinavia, and it goes direct to retail partners such as Globetrotter and Transa. Several new partnerships are to be announced for 2017.
