Major acquisition in paddlesports in the U.S. : Utah-based Lifetime Products has bought the patents, manufacturing tools, trademarks and retail contracts of Emotion Kayaks, a company based in Pennsylvania. The interesting point about this story is that Lifetime openly admitted that one of the reasons for the takeover was a new taxation policy of the state of Utah that allowed it to expand its manufacturing facilities for blow-molding, allowing it to produce more kayaks.
