With the fresh injection of funds, the startup, founded in 2018, intends to seize the moment and further expand the business of its two innovative online platforms, www.rebike.de (offering used, as-new premium brand e-bikes including S-pedelecs directly to consumers) and, since 2019, ebike-abo.de (renting new and used, as-new premium e-bikes for three to 18 months). With almost €7 million, Rebike’s 2020 sales more than doubled year-on-year. The founders and managing directors Sven Erger and Thomas Bernik, as well as the investors involved, see “enormous potential in the company, the market and the product.” The lead investor in this Series B financing round is Bayerische Beteiligungsgesellschaft (BayBG). Existing Rebike investors Vorwerk Ventures and STS Ventures also participated in this round.
