After purchasing certified down for all of its sleeping bags and apparel for years and an intensive audit including a physical visit of the brand’s facilities and products in its Salt Lake City distribution center, U.S. outdoor equipment brand Big Agnes announced that it has officially received its Responsible Down Standard (RDS) brand certification. The brand based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, sees the new signet as a step to more transparency for customers looking for a documented chain of custody information throughout the entire supply chain.

Big Agnes has made other efforts towards more sustainability in its latest collections, launching sleeping mats made from sugarcane and tents using the environmentally friendly solution dyeing process for the tent fabrics. The brand is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and plans to expand the offering with a new backpack line.
