Penguin Books is releasing a revised and expanded edition of Yvon Chouinard's memoir. The first edition of Let My People Go Surfing: The Education of a Reluctant Businessman, by the founder of Patagonia was first published ten years ago. The new edition features around 40 percent new material as well as a new foreword by Naomi Klein, the activist and author best know for No Logo, This Changes Everything and other best-selling books. In the new edition of his memoir, Chouinard explains the evolution of his business and environmental views throughout a decade that has been marked by a global recession and the growing environmental crisis, and expresses deep concern about climate change, the condition of the planet and other threats. In response to these new threats, Chouinard has added a new element to his philosophy for responsible business labeled as “Do Good.” In his view, business decisions must take into account not only the bottom line, but also the right thing to do.
