So far, Sweden has followed its unique way within Europe to cope with the Covid-19 crisis, including that the country’s ski resorts will initially remain open until the end of the regular season. SkiStar has now decided to close its ski resorts in Åre, Sälen and Vemdalen from Monday, April 6. The company said that guests with an Easter booking can either cancel or postpone until next year. SkiStar justified the decision with the Swedish health authority’s advice to ensure health care in the affected areas. SkiStar is a public company listed on the Stockholm stock exchange with a focus on the operation of ski resorts and property development. The company owns and operates ski resorts in Sälen, Åre, Vemdalen, and Hammarbybacken (Stockholm) in Sweden, Hemsedal and Trysil in Norway as well as St. Johann in Tirol in Austria.
