The Lenzing Group's fibers have been certified for full biodegradability in fresh water by Organic Waste Systems (OWS), the independent research laboratory. The new and existing international certifications conducted by OWS, and issued by TÜV Austria, verify that Lenzing Viscose fibers, Lenzing Modal fibers and Lenzing Lyocell fibers are biodegradable in all natural and industrial environments: in the soil, in compost as well as in fresh and marine water. Biodegradability was tested at OWS according to valid international standards, such as the ISO 14851, the company said.
