Wolverine Worldwide, the mother company of Saucony, Merrell and other brands, is suing 3M for allegedly concealing information about the risks of the 3M'S Scotchgard water and stain repellent. The lawsuit was filed in Michigan District Court on Dec. 19. Wolverine claims that 3M knew that the PFOA and PFOS - collectively referred to as PFAS - contained in Scotchgard posed environmental risks. Wolverine has used 3M's Scotchgard to make shoes repellent to water and stains for decades. Meanwhile, 3M maintains it has acted responsibly in connection with products containing PFAS.
