Bret Snyder, chairman of W. L. Gore & Associates, succeeded Jason Field as president and chief executive of the company on Oct. 9. Field will be staying through December for the transition. Snyder has been chairman since 2016 and will retain his seat on the board. He is the grandson of Gore’s founders, Bill and Vieve Gore, and began working for the company in 2008 – initially in Core Technology, where he developed materials for all product divisions. He later became a product development engineer for PharmBIO and then a technical leader for the portable electronics venting business. Before Gore, Snyder worked in R&D for Rohm and Haas, a chemicals producer owned by Dow Chemicals, and served as an operations leader for its subsidiary AgroFresh.
