Columbia Sportswear has appointed David Lawner as interim senior vice president of retailing in North America and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), while the company has started a search to replace Shawn Cox. From 2011 until March 2016, Lawner was president in charge of U.S. retailing and ecommerce for the Nautica brand, part of the VF Corporation. He covered Nautica's U.S. retail sales, including 87 factory outlet stores and ecommerce. Lawner previously built retail platforms at Ann Taylor, Tommy Hilfiger, Carter's, Bob's Stores, Children's Place, and the Gap. Lawner started at Columbia Sportswear on Oct. 10 and he reports directly to Bryan Timm, the group's president and chief operating officer. Shawn has been senior vice president of retail for the last three years, after assignments at companies including Mexx Europe and Samsonite.
