Five Seasons announced this week the recruitment of Saila Härkki as its new head designer, describing the move as an important step in its bid to double its turnover over the next three years. Härkki has been the head designer for the Swedish brand's direct competitor, Icepeak, whose sales have been growing strongly in the past ten years, reaching an annual level of €112 million. She was the winner of the 2013 Finnish Fashion Designer of the Year award. At Five Seasons, Härkki will also be involved in the brand's new international campaign. As reported in the last issue of The Compass, the Swedish brand of value-price apparel has changed its logo, signed new agency and distribution contracts in Central Europe, and placed a stronger focus on cooperation with large key accounts all over Europe under the management of Erik Johansson, who took over the company's helm from his father Gunnar in 2013.
